About Me
Chooi Foong CHONG
MA Musicology, McGill University; MMus in Piano Performance, Goldsmiths College, University of London; LLCM; ATCL
Music is my lifelong passion.
As a music educator, I am dedicated to make learning music fun via versatile methods and interactive activities to suit all learning styles. I have worked with students of all ages and levels, and I take pride in helping them achieve progressive yet realistic goals in music. Over the span of 20 years, I obtained 3 music degrees, the most recent being a degree in Master of Arts in Musicology from McGill University (2023).
Prior to Canada, I was a senior piano teacher at Bentley Music Academy in Malaysia. I also co-founded and performed with the Malaysian Piano Quartet, a quartet specializing in two-pianos eight-hands music. In addition, I was an adjunct lecturer of the Institute of Music at UCSI University, where I taught piano to music majors at undergraduate level, coached various chamber music ensembles; and adjudicated in the Institute of Music’s International Piano Festival and Competition from 2014 to 2018.
